About Us

The library of GHG Harparkash College of Education for Women is housed in spacious premises covering an area of 129.6"x57.6" reading hall having an area of 33.3"x 23.10" which is open for 24"x7" and is very rich having a collection of 23,530 books.

It provides support to its users in the form of reference service and orientation program. It holds a special collection in the multi-disciplinary field of education and is having good collection of rare books, reference books, general books, text books, CD-ROMs, thesis and dissertations in the field of education. It provides remote access to e-resources and is automated with GS Library Management Software.

There is also provision of book bank facility for needy and meritorious students. Various support facilities like internet surfing and reprographic services are available to the readers.

The Library provides a wide range of resources to support the learning, teaching, and research activities.

Library Rules

1. Books will be issued to the library members from 9:00AM to 3:30PM.
2. Books will be issued for 15 days to the students.
3. Reserved/Reference books will not be issued.
4. Rs. 2/- fine per day will be charged for overdue books.
5. 4 library tickets will be issued to B.Ed. students, 5 library tickets to M.Ed. students, and 4 library tickets to PGDG&C students
6. Latest Journals/Magazines and Newspapers will not be issued.
7. Issued books should be brought for checking at the entrance.

8. All the personal property should be kept at the property counter.
9. Eatables are not allowed in the library.
10. Kindly do not bring personal books in the library. They are allowed in the outer Reading Hall
11. Kindly observe silence in the library.
12. Magazine/Journal/Paper should be kept at proper place after reading.
13. Photocopying facility is available in the library.

Notice Board

The following are entitled to draw books from the Library on Loan basis:-

1. Management members of Sidhwan Institutions.
2. Principal of the College.
3. Principals of Sister Institutions of Sidhwan Khurd.
4. All employees of this college are entitled to the privilege of membership.
5. Students of the College on rolls.
6. Approved students for the Doctor of Philosophy from Panjab University, Chandigarh.
7. Members of teaching staff of the University and affiliated colleges with special permission.
8. Libraries which have established Inter-loan relationship with this Library (on resource sharing basis)
9. Some special borrowing members on a prescribed annual subscription fee.
10. Alumni of this college on a subscribed annual fee.

Our Services

User Orientation Program

User Orientation Program is organized for M.Ed, B.Ed and PG Diploma students and for Ph.D Research Scholars to acquaint them with the resources and the services offered by the library. They are familiarized with the location and use of reference books, general books, text books, magazines and journals and automated library system.
